I have seen this poster on several websites including several pins on Pinterest.  Don't know who originally created, but it is worth sharing.

10 COMMANDMENTS OF WEIGHT LOSS (or control)


1. LIFESTYLE, NOT A DIET
This is not a short term fix; it's a way of life.

2. GET ORGANISED
Structure your life and you'll structure your eating.

3. EAT SMALL
Portion control is crucial for losing weight (or for that matter, not gaining weight).

4. LEARN TO LEAVE FOOD ON YOUR PLATE
This helps you take control of compulsive eating. No matter what Mom might have said, you don't have to eat it all. When you're full, quit eating. (See commandment 7).

5. NEVER FEEL DEPRIVED
This only encourages binge eating.

6. MAKE A MEAL OUT OF IT
Make a ceremony out of every meal, so that you really appreciate what you've eaten.

7. EAT SLOWLY
That way, you'll feel satisfied before you've eaten too much.

8. ENJOY YOUR FOOD
It's one of life's greatest pleasures, not a punishment.  Eat what you like, but remember commandment #3.

9. MOVE IT!
Exercise is a key essential of loosing weight.

10. GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Structuring your sleeping patterns will regulate metabolism.


Eat Right. Exercise. Get Plenty of Rest.
